Head Market Access & Governmental Affairs

We are seeking a Head of Market Access & Governmental Affairs to join the leadership team of one of our customers, a pharmaceutical company specialised mainly in oncology and neurology.

JOB SCOPE:


  • This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on operational responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth and to make a meaningful impact.
  • Expanding access and optimizing pricing for the company's portfolio in BeLux
  • Engaging stakeholders in the relevant domains of the healthcare sector
  • Overseeing and managing government affairs
  • You will work closely with the EMEA Regional Market Access & Pricing function and the Regional Government Affairs team.
  • Supporting the Country General Manager, you will act as a trusted partner of the key internal stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Market Access & Pricing and Government & Public Affairs:


  • Develop and execute integrated market access strategies with clear priorities, plans, and external engagement tactics.
  • Shape pricing and access strategies for both new launches and in-line brands in partnership with the business units and EMEA region.
  • Adapt global value dossiers and Health Economics models, leveraging local data to strengthen submissions.
  • Lead negotiations with local authorities to secure optimal access and pricing.
  • Provide MAP input to country brand strategies and planning processes.

Strategic Pricing Management:


  • Build strong business cases grounded in commercial potential.
  • Optimize pricing across the portfolio while safeguarding value.
  • Maintain insights into competitor strategies, pricing trends, and market activities.

Tender and Key Account Activities :


  • Support business teams with tender processes and hospital pricing strategies.
  • Provide insights to develop stakeholder plans, value propositions, and strategic options for hospital and clinic accounts.
  • Shape pricing strategies, including contracts and conditions, to maximize profitability.

Public Affairs:


  • Design and implement Government Affairs strategies, identifying healthcare trends and policies impacting the business.
  • Build relationships with major payers and public institutions to explore partnerships.
  • Lead day-to-day networking with public institutions, guiding senior-level relationships and outreach.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


  • 5+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2 years in market access, pricing, or government affairs.
  • Degree in healthcare or life sciences preferred
  • Fluency in Flemish and English; French is a plus.
  • Proven ability to partner effectively with country leadership and regional stakeholders within a matrix organization.
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare systems in Belgium, including payer environments and stakeholder networks.
  • Demonstrated success in advancing market access within complex, competitive environments.
  • Experience with Health Economics models, Real World Evidence generation, and clinical-economic dossier development is a plus, but not a must.
  • Live in Belgium
