Junior Clinical Operations Manager

Junior Clinical Operations Manager

About our client

Our client is a leading independent, international non-profit clinical research organization in oncology situated in Brussels.

About the Role

Ready to take the next step in your clinical research career?

We are seeking a Junior Clinical Operations Manager (Junior COM) to bridge the gap between clinical support and independent study management.

In this intermediate role, you will enjoy a higher level of independence and responsibility while receiving dedicated oversight and mentorship from Senior COMs. You will look after site-facing operational tasks while expanding your expertise into external vendor, provider, and partner management.

What You Will Do

  • Operational Coordination: Support the operational aspects of clinical studies, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met throughout the study lifecycle.
  • Provider & Partner Liaison: Coordinate and manage interactions with external partners, drug logistics providers, and collaborating academic/intergroup partners.
  • COM Backup & Oversight: Act as a reliable backup to the Clinical Operations Manager when needed; take delegated responsibility for lower-intensity or later-phase studies under supervision.
  • Site & Logistics Management: Oversee site activation, monitor logistical support, and follow up on Investigational Medicinal Product (IMP) and Human Biological Material (HBM) provider tracking.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Represent operational status updates on calls with external partners and sponsors.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: 2–3 years of clinical research experience is required. You must have a solid baseline understanding of the clinical study lifecycle.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Biomedical sciences, Pharmaceutical sciences, or equivalent).
  • Competencies: Strong operational judgement, leadership potential, and problem-solving skills. Oncology experience is not mandatory but is a plus; familiarity with IMP/HBM logistics is highly valued.
  • Soft Skills: Highly collaborative team player, mature communicator, and comfortable managing external provider relationships.
  • Languages & Tools: Fluent written and spoken English. Strong command of MS Office and familiarity with CTMS/quality management systems.
  • Compliance: GCP certification is mandatory.

What We Offer

  • Flexibility: Work-life balance-focused environment with up to 4 days of remote work (WFH) per week and flexible office hours.
  • Vibrant Team Culture: Be part of a supportive department that values information sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and regular monthly in-person team connections.
  • Career Progression: Real growth paths.
